Maximising your potential: Steps to overcome perfectionism & the fear of failure
In my experience one of the first things you can do is to notice the perfectionist in you.
There is always an easier way to do things. Examine your processes regularly and you will find ways to get things done quicker. Nothing you ever do will be perfect; it is always possible to improve. Sometimes the improvements to be achieved do not justify the time required to achieve them. Rather than spend an excessive amount of time on a task, set a realistic time frame. At the end of the time, ask yourself: Have I done the best that I could with the time and resources available?
Everyone experiences the fear of failure but what separates high performers is the extraordinary decisions they make when feeling the fear. So, what can you do immediately to get phenomenal results and produce your best through any fear. Here is my three-step approach:
